You have raised Jake's eyebrows!! Lol
I've got a Pro Systems 1200 cfm carb. I know, it's probably way too much,
but it's worth a shot at the track.
Thanks for the kind comments!

I'm not sure a Dominator would pick it up 20. My 500" motor picked up nothing with an 8896 over my 850.

He did a really nice job on parts selection. Good luck with it.

My 434 picked up .04 going to a 4500 from a 4150. (850 to 1050) Same intake. Slightly slower 60 foot. Made up on the big end.

Congrats on the tremendous results!

That's a crapload of lift for a flat tappet.. 1.65 ratio would put lobe at .372 + ??

I was asking because it has been a few years since I checked on Comps latest lobe catalog.

I had never seen .373 lobe lift solid flat with only 254 @ .050 duration.

Well, here it is..

Todd Goodwin spec'd the cam. He told us we would be "tickled pink" with it.

I'm astounded you're getting those numbers with a flat tappet. I'm currently building an almost identical engine and I'd been spec'd a roller to get around that.
I haven't pulled the trigger on the cam yet and I'd sure would like to save that roller money for something else.
The numbers you hit are the max I can run and stay in class anyway.

Great job!

Agreed!

If my comment was correct about this cam using the Comp GSI lobe. They are supposed to be the latest and greatest in solid flat.
Many of us know how fancy and new does not always translate to better.. LOL

If this cams exhaust side also has .615 lift with 1.65 rocker then it would use a different lobe, probably the "tight lash" series.

Todd Goodwin and company are sharp for sure, they have a Spintron over there.

I'd like to see the numbers from 3500 and up, 4700 and up is fine for drag racing but I need 3500-7000

I'll get the first pull that went to 5200. That should have started low enough.
Give me a day or two.

I was looking over these numbers again, this combination made right around 2.0 HP per CFM. Considering an un-ported set of E-heads flow right around 275 CFM on my bench, I would say the tweaking I did on the heads were worth around 50 HP to 60 HP.

Does anyone have any data on a set of un-ported set of E-heads on a 434?

I would think the engine would have made right around 550 HP in the stock E-head form.
