My car sits real low with the original 6 cyl springs in front and worn out springs in the back. Is there a prefered spring for medium duty racing? Or are stock style fine?

Being the cheap skate that I am I would take it to the track and try it out first.
If the springs are as bad as you say then you might get some "see-sawing" going on just after you launch. This could cause the back tires to lose some contact with the track surface and thus they will spin. Have a friend along to watch your rear tires to see if they spin at the hit of the throttle and/or just after the front end comes down and settles in. Not unusual to see 6 cyl springs on the front to make it a little looser. Depending on how much power you are making they may be fine. If you're making a lot of power then you don't want as much movement up and down at the front of the car. Have fun and race hard. Jim

You might want to check your main fuel line, a 6 cyl car is smaller that a factory V8 car.

Thanks 66, I dont think im making the power it would take to crack the tires loose at speed. Id say best case im 450 hp or so.
Bandit - I am planning to run all new fuel and brake lines. But it was enough to supply the Holley I had on there. |
