Default bypass surgery

I found out earlier this week that I have 80% blockage in 3 arteries so its bypass surgery tomorrow morning. Sorta caught us by surprise. I actually discovered my problem by doing an easy and inexpensive test done at a local hospital. Its called a calcium scoring test. They do an MRI of ur chest and shows if u have any calcium build up in ur heart area. It takes about 5 mins and cost is $50. I had a very high calcium score, which indicates possible plaque buildup. after meeting with the cardiologist he suggested a heart cath which showed the blockage. Hopefully I will be back online here on the forums by next weekend. cya soon nick

Had triple bypass 18 years ago. Best thing that happened to me, felt like a new man afterwards. Would do it again in a heart beat [pun intended]. Welcome to the Zipper Club. Best to you for speedy recovery.

Nick, prayers sent for a excellent procedure, and speedy recovery. In case you might have forgotten we had a T shirt booth next to yours at the T/A Nats. a few years ago.

Always a pleasure to chat with people from PY, also found out that the VW in your screen name was Van Wert OH, as opposed to Volkswagen ..........................

The calcium scoring test is a great new tool to check out blockage, but for some strange reason they cannot do the test on you if you had previously had bi pass surgery.
