Annyone know if a 200R4 from an 87 Monte SS would any different than anything else? Far as I ever knew, the GN got a little beefier stuff, but thats all I know.

The 87 Monte SS trans will have the factory upgrades, and a nice shift program to go with it.

The GN had the larger servo to apply the band, don't think the Monte got this improvement, but it's been a while since I've had one on the bench to know for sure.

In 1986 the 200's got a nice makeover, hardened stator shaft, hardened pump rings, Torrington bearing, hardened sun shell, and improved high drum with aluminum apply piston. An earlier unit can be upgraded with some additional expense, and all of them need some aftermarket parts for big power levels......Cliff

Well crap, then I guess its worth his asking price IF it works. Can I get a Jim Hand special type converter for the 200? It does come with a converter, but surely not what I want.
