Default Jim Wangers San Jose, CA Visit - 9/14

I haven't seen anyone post about this yet, so I'll pass it along. Jim Wangers will be visiting Club Auto Sport in San Jose, CA this Saturday for their Cars and Caffeine event.

Wink

Based on my "advanced mathmatical calculations";

Jim Wangers should be in the neighborhood of approximately 87 years of age now. Yes?

This is the first time I have had the opportunity to meet him. Looking forward to it. I'm trying to think of something cool to get him to sign.

Always great to see Jim.

I had Jim sign a Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine color cover photo-art of a GTO Hurst 4 speed shifter "in-motion" image that is framed and prominently on display.

That gave me an idea. I may go with the big poster of the Woodward Ave ad I have hanging over my toolbox in my garage. The car in the ad resembles mine (and a ton of other green ones).

That is REALLY a great idea .
He even did that advertisement too .

Signed poster sizes of some of his old PMD printwork sounds like decent marketable items too . fwiw

Yes - Great idea. IIRC, I purchased the SWAG (color poster print) I asked Jim to sign @ his "Tour De Wangers" show.

Bump for anyone else in the Bay Area who may not have seen this.

To bad you didn't have his book: The Glory Days, its worth buying just to read, but he probably would have signed it for you.

I bought mine at a signing he was present after it came out.

I do have his book. I'll be bringing that too

I also have a Monkeemobile signed by George Barris. I thought it might be funny to have two people who had nothing to do with it sign it, but I know how much Jim hates it so I didn't want to risk insulting him.

Jim is the same age as Pontiac Motor Division.
But he's outlived PMD...

Love that place, and fitting that Jim is a headliner there IMO.

Fun event, it was neat to finally meet him. Got my poster signed

Pretty good mix of cars. Glad to see plenty of late models mixed in. Here's some pics my buddy took.

My car

All original Primivera Beige 2bbl car with 60k miles. I'm the one in the middle.
