Field Service Tool Case
I am in the market for a tool case. Must be able take with me everywhere. Also must be able to take on the plane if need be. What brands if any stand out. Of maybe one that has work for you well over the years.
Thanks, Stu |

what type tools will you be using?
I like the blow molded ones that Craftsman tools come in,because it has a spot for every tool and they wont slosh around. I do use an old leather belt around the case so it wont accidentally come open

Mostly hand tools. A little bit of everything seems to be the case most of the time. Lol
Just came back from a trip and was told no tools needed. Wow that was a joke. This company which is a large company could not even supply basic hand tools. But maybe the language barrier was the issue as well. Lol |

good luck trying to carry any tools as carryon
coworker was stopped at TSA checkpoint because he forgot he had a 3/8 snapon ratchet in his coat pocket. They wanted him to throw it away(about $50) but he made it back to baggage in time to put in his luggage.

I know that you have to check this stuff in. Just looking for a case that will hold up with the abuse that the airport puts these things through. May just have to wing it and buy something.

Pelican cases are pretty good. Lifetime warranty, made in USA, but you may have to come up with your own interior.

get a laptop case , buy tool pallets and put them inside it. This will allow for extended handles and wheels on the case, and you can stack stuff on the case and bungie them to the extended handle as you drag it along. Well made one will be leather and about 125 bucks, with wheels and handle. Tool pallets for inside are cheap

www.plattcases.com
By far the best travel tool cases that I have used in my 20+ years of field service work. http://www.customcases.com/ecom/category/7/ I usually buy them from this source, as they have good pricing and availability. You get what you pay for...
