Default Need help snow plow for 2013 GMC

I'm thinking of not putting a plow on my 2013 GMC for a variety of reasons, the main one being appearance of the truck side attachment. On my 2011 Chev I had to cut the valance to mount the Fisher MM2 plow. IT looks like I would have to do that again to mount my existing plow.

Does anyone have pics of a decent plow mount on a new truck that doesn't involve cutting the valance?

Anyone want a MM2 plow setup for 2011-2013 CHev/gmc?

Check out the boss units. a Local guy has one on his truck and the valance isn't cut that I remember seeing. If it is it's not obvious.

Keith,
Like Mike said, check out Boss. Every Western, Fisher, Blizzard, and Airflow I put on a Chevy had to get the front facia cut or notched. The only one I can't remember for sure is Meyer. May not have to with the new Meyer mounts. Did you get a later model 2013 where they finally put a bigger front axle weight rating on the truck?? They carry the plows much better, don't have to crank the torsion bars up very much. If you're gonna get a new plow, check out a very productive one. Blizzard Speedwing!
www.blizzardplows.com. I sold a lot of those last year, and the guys loved them.

Are you talking a 1500 1/2 ton GM truck?
The 1/2 ton gmt-900s have a thin "air d*m" /deflector that runs across the front
under the rad support that gets cut. The 2500/3500 do not have it.

A newer Western/Fisher plow should not require air d*m cutting for a gmt-900 2500/3500
anyway. Unless your using the older style mounting carton................

2500 HD

Old plow is Minute MOunt 2, so cut is necessary. Two pushplates in place of the frame hooks

Boss runs quite a low mount

New truck is 2500 HD with diesel, but is 10000 gvt. Chev was a 9600 or something like that. Both were plow prep from factory, so had quite large front axles. Earlier than 2011, no plows for duramax.

The more I think about this I just would rather get a winter beater with a plow on it.

NO VYU plow prep on 2500/3500 gmt-900 diesel x-cab or crews.

VYU plow prep on reg cab 2500/3500 gmt-900 diesels only.

new Boss plows require bumper cover notching/cutting.
My bud at the hardware store has a 2013 with a Boss 8 footer
and they carved it up pretty good!

NEW western, fisher and blizzard use the same mounting system
and require no cutting (on a gmt-900 2500/3500)

will dig out camera and take pics................

Why guess?

My 2010 has Western Ultra Mount. No cutting necessary. When the lock hook is engaged it will hit the lower valance slightly. No damage occurs at all over the last three years. If concerned, just put a piece of flooring rubber as a protector when engaged.

On the Blizzard PH2 the cross beam will inerfere with the plastic underneath the towhooks. You can't get it on without notching plastic. Says right in Power Match system bumper notching required.

Same kinda problem with the Western recievers. The pin that goes through the receivers hits the plastic. Gotta notch bottom of plastic under towhook.

I have a Western rig on my 07 gmt-900 2500

No notching/cutting required, pin clearance is fine.

Man, you just missed a real good deal on a Dodge Ram with a plow on it.
