Bright headlights
Anyone know where to get replacement headlights that are brighter than regular halogen for 66 gto.

Without adequate power, you really haven't given those halogens a chance. The OEM wiring harness isn't up to the task anyways, so add some relays first.
If they aren't bright enough after that... |

Is their a "do it yourself" relay kit that can be added.

Yeah, the link I posted doesn't get much more do it yourself than that.

Oh, yes it does. Two relays and some connectors. The link you posted is for only two headlights also. |

Brighter Headlights
Check out this article from MAD Enterprises. It describes how to convert your headlights to work through relays. Very informative, you can buy the kit from them or better yet, just go get some cheap relays at the parts store or Radio Shack and get to wiring. Actually very simple.

I wonder if this relay kit would work for a 66 GTO? A 66 Chevelle is listed as an application, but not 66 gto.

Here's another description and diagram on how to do it and a diagram. I wouldn't bother with the harness from eBay. JMHO

Why? Not everyone wants to piece together their own harness with parts bought at Radio Shack.

Why? Because what fun is it to NOT think and then do?
IE, let someone else do your thinking for you and see where you wind up? Last edited by Old Goat 67; 07-25-2013 at 02:08 PM. |

Ever think that someones idea of fun IS installing a plug and play harness like this as compared to making one up? Maybe they don't have the time or skills required. In regards to wiring, your idea of FUN isn't everyone elses. There are plenty of other aspects of this hobby one can think for himself and have their fun. |
