water leak from under glove box
I just bought a '64 Lemans conv. When I washed the car I noticed the carpet below the glove box was soaked! There is a small nipple where the water is coming out of. It looks like a hose should connect to it? Anyway, I took off the cowl and could not see where anything was blocked causing the water to go inside. Anyone have any ideas??? Thanks

It sounds like a leaky heater core. The water goes in from the firewall side. If you don't need heat then you can just bypass it at the front cover. The hoses are two different sizes, but you can use the large size and over tighten the small side. One fitting is on the front passenger side of the intake manifold, and the other is on the front cover. Changing the heater core is not a fun job.

Small nipple sounds like an ac car to me. If so, out would be a condensation drain and should be routed out of the car via a small hose.

No AC in the car. I thought bad heater core but It's leaking clean water no antifreeze.

I take it is after washing the car or rain. Remove the glove box and look up in there. Possible the windshield is leaking.

Yes, it only happens after rain or washing. I'll take a look and see. Thanks

I had a similar situation on my 70. I had a buddy hold a hose on it while I crawled under the dash. Turns out it was the original seam sealer was shot on top of the cowl and was allowing the seam to leak. I scraped it all out and reapplied and all was well.

My 64 Lemans convert leaked onto the passenger floor and it was the windshield seal that was leaking.
