Question 275deh cam in a 433

How would 275deh cam run in a 433, 8:1 6x4 heads, tri-power M21 trans, 390:1 Gears. Or would i be better off with Xe262,265deh,268h,60918,60240, etc
I have a set of freshly done heads with multi valve angle valve job new spring, adjustable valve train, but basic stock heads but unfortunately big chamber 98 cc and 12 cc dish on the piston which make around 8 to 1 or little more compression ratio.
This is what i have plan for now maybe in the future i will stroke the engine to a 455 for more compresion and torque. But for now i need cam for low compression 428 engine.

I'd use something like the 265DE or 262XE with your SCR. A bigger cam will provide very bad low end torque with 8:1.
If you make it a 455 with a SCR of about 9:1 or 9.5:1 the bigger cam like the 275DE or the 268XE will be a good choice.

Thanks for input Chris-Austria
Im just trying to get a handle on this. The 275DEH .275/.277 .219/.228 .462/.480 110/106 ol 55 ° with intake closing at 63.5 °. the dymanic compression would be down as compare to the XE262 .262/.270 .218/.224 .462/.470 110/106 ol 46 ° intake closing at 57.0 °. But also wouldn't the summit 2801 .272/.282 .214/.224 .442/.465 112/107 ol 53 ° intake closing at 63.0 ° and the Crower 60240 .270/.276 .210/.221 .422/.446 112/108 ol 49 ° Intake closing at 63.0 ° and these cams are often recommend for low compression 400 pontiac?.
I have used the High energy 268h in a 400 before and it run good. I may try that agian or xe262 or 265DEH.
Thanks again
Mike

On the Comp's page they measure the valve timing at 0.06".. if you measure at 0.05" this are the ABDC's:

275DE ABDC = 35.5
262XE ABDC = 35
268XE ABDC = 38
265DE ABDC = 31.5

If you use a compression calculator like this you can see the difference easily: http://www.projectpontiac.com/ppsite...tio-calculator

The Crower 60240 would be a good choice for the low compression 433. 2801 wouldn't be too bad, those aren't really very big cams for the CID, even at 8 to 1 compression.....Cliff

Yes i was wondering how the 60240 would run in low compression 428 vs 400.
This cam is on my List!

Thanks for your response Cliff
