Default Drum Brakes

Now that I got the drum off I have a few questions. I took a photo of the front drum brake for you to review. I think I am missing key pieces of the adjuster that allows it to self adjust. I am assuming they are suppose to be on the front?

Also, since I'm going to have to get new drums do I have to or should I replace the brake shows too?

Both front cylinders, bleeders and hoses seem to have been replaced at sometime. Both sides look good with no leaks.

Ya, you are missing a few components.

Here is a pic of a dirty driver front.

The fronts look more bare because they don't have the emergency brake parts.
But you are missing the parts for the auto-adjuster.
Guessing the reason why is because those shoes don't have the provisions for those pieces of hardware - and they left them off.
If i'm seeing it right.

They look to be Rear Shoes.
They have the extra slots under wheel cylinder for the emergency brake stuff.

If the drums are re-usable , you might oughta have them rechecked for balance after what they went through.

Shoes should be just fine. If they need a lil deglazing can sand with 80 or 120 grit.
If you want to just button it back up until maybe you find whatever parts you want to replace.

i had a 68 Bird with 4 wheel drum power brakes about 50 years ago.
Worked at a parts place - and we couldn't get new front drums for it back then.
Could get Camaro front drums - but they were different.
And i don't remember what the difference was - but did compare - back then.

Here is one of my pics. One of the white springs I think should be blue. I changed it later.
