Thanks to all who have provided best wishes. I have thought for several years that I might be getting old, but when the big 80 shows up in black and white, it becomes pretty obvious I really am an old fart!

I do want to state that I sincerely appreciate the support for our writings on this board, in magazines, our seminars at various locations, and our book on Pontiacs. It is a great feeling to realize that some of the info we have provided has helped others run a little better (and perhaps faster or quicker).

A brief on our book: The original title - "How to Build MAX-PERFORMANCE Pontiac V8s" was selected/specified by the book publisher CarTech. I would have preferred a different one. I started on the book in 2002, submitted the final manuscript in late 2003, and it went on sale in July 2004. Sales ended in July, 2012, and that was coordinated with the availability of Rocky Rotella's book of the same name (again CarTech's choice) in mid 2012. Rocky's book is a very well written and illustrated book that describes all the advances in Pontiac performance since 2002-2003, in addition to additional technical information Rocky has obtained in his extensive work with Pontiacs. Rocky's other book on Rebuilding Pontiacs and Cliff's Q-Jet and transmission books with CarTech are still on the market and current.

The last tally of our book sales indicates a total of 26,752 books were sold. Folks, I really do appreciate you risking your money by buying the book. It far exceeded my expectations! And don't forget the excellent help I received from seven special guys in its preparation - Harold Bettes/Airflow testing, George Hanks/history, Jon Hardgrove/carburetors, Jim Lehart/Block prep and machining, Rocky Rotella/later model history, and Cliff Ruggles/ Q-Jets.

One last comment - the post by S/st 54 brought up a good memory. Jason is also native to the Kansas City area and raced with and against us at the Kansas City track countless times. His post reminded me of the time my wagon put him out in a bracket race at the Pontiac Uprising in Ark City, Kansas, years ago. My friend and driver Kevin Kirk finished strong and won that bracket! Thanks Jason!

Belated birthday wishes to you Jim!!!

I have great memories of a lot of good racing at Ark City, I don't know if the place is still operating. I'd heard the track surface needed attention, who knows.

Thanks for showing us how to D-I-Y a Pontiac!!!

I missed it. Happy birthday. It has been over 20 years since I have been in your house. How time flies. Is Gary Carnivale still around?
