Well it looks like the car is going to have to be taken back down and I will have to start completely over on the paint and body. The repairs that I was told had new sheet metal welded in was just bondo'd over and now has rust bubbling under the paint, major runs in the paint, DA marks visible in the paint, visible dents in multiple places on the car and the list just goes on and on.

I thought I was going to be able to redo a few bad spots, but no such luck. Glad we discovered it now instead of after the car was back on the road. I'll post some pics soon.

Default some pictures of the work the sheet metal that had been "replaced"

It appears someone hit and then tried to pull the dent in the rear quarter. My guess is that they pulled the hole all of the way through on one.

Default more pics

Some more recent pictures. Currently have sanded both doors, trunk and roof down to bare metal to find everything that was supposed to have been fixed. So far of the 2 patches we found, they were bad fitting rusted pieces of metal that were patched in. Small rust holes as indicated in the previous picture I posted were found in a few spots. The rust that coincided with the dent in the passenger quarter made us to decide to go ahead and use the short quarter panels I had for the car. (really glad those didn't sell at the swap meet over the summer) I'll add a pic of one of the patches I took out when time permits a long with a pic of the patch that we replaced it with.

sucks about the poor workmanship, always better to do it yourself.

I've got a quarter skin waiting to be put on, same side too...so I'll be watch closely.
So far, youre doing it exactly the way I was planning

So here are some late pics of the guide coat pre-block sanding.

Tony, sorry I didn't get you more shots of the quarter replacement. Both quarters were replaced at this point.

Default project hard luck?

Wow... And the hits keep coming... I received a phone call this morning from the shop my car is stored in and was told that the shop had been broken into last night and that I needed to get over there ASAP. Don't have any pics uploaded yet but will post a few one I get them uploaded.

Sadly, I know who did this and I have a feeling he's been following my project threads on one of the forums I post to. If you are, enjoy your time free because Justice will find you.

Thanks for the response... I'm in need of some parts and I remember you were parting a few cars out a few years ago. Shoot me a PM if you still have some that you wouldn't mind parting with.

WOW!

That is really sad.

Was your car the only one there that was vandalized?
That is some sick person who did that, especially if he is a Pontiac guy?
