1968 GTO project
I've listed my 68 GTO on Ebay. Starting bid of $2,950 with no reserve. The car is at my brother's house in St. George, UT.
Built in Arlington, Texas on the second week of March 1969. It originally came with Springmist Green paint, black vinyl top, black interior, 400 CI / 350HP / 4 BBL, TH400 automatic transmission (code PX), 2.93 open rear axle (code WD), hideaway headlights, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, bucket seats, and console. It's not very pretty right now, but it's 98% rust free. Pull a few dents out and replace the left quarter and you'd have one heck of a nice body. I didn't put it in my Ebay listing, but I may consider a trade for 65 or 67 Lemans or 66-67 Nova or Chevy II rust free roller. PM me if you want to discuss a possible trade. Here's the Ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-...ht_2698wt_1165 Thanks for looking, Terry Last edited by xgoater; 11-28-2012 at 11:57 PM. |

I must agree with the others. The ad is well written and pics are excellent. The ad copy would be meaningless if the car was lousy. This one is remarkably good and you can see what you're getting. A great project car for someone.

68's are my favorite. But I like my 67 post, and 65 iris mist cars, and 66 Barrier Blue cars...But 68s just have a great look.

Here are the interior pictures from the Ebay listing. The listing also has a complete description of everything included with the car as well as the major items it is missing.
The interior is totally stripped and is missing the original steering wheel, bucket seats, console, carpet, passenger front door panel, and headliner. A late model GM steering column is in the car right now, but included is a correct floor shift steering column (no steering wheel). The back seat (bottom is good and top is poor) and three door panels in poor condition are included with the car. The floor pan front to back is impeccable. I honestly think this floor pan is as good as you can find anywhere. There are a few pinholes in the far left side of the trunk pan from crap in the trunk and getting wet from no trunk lid. I'm not sure this section would even need a new panel, but it all depends on what level of car a guy wants to make this car. Thanks, Terry |

Hey guys,
Thanks for the compliments on the ad and the car! The car should speak for itself, but I wanted a buyer to know everything I know about the car. Compared to some ads for big $$$ cars, it seems like I wrote a novel! Even though it looks rough, and it does have it share of ouchies, the car is a heckuva starting point. As a midwesterner, it was even fun to clean it up and discover all that factory primer and overspray. Heck, my brother has lived in the Southwest for 30+ years and he was even more incredulous than I was over how solid the car is. But, since I didn't know when I was ever going to get around fixing it up, I thought I'd try and find it a good home. Looks like that's going to happen now! Terry |

Terry, Too bad I'm not in the market right now. The car looks like a great project for somebody. I wish I could find a 69 that clean. Hope it works out good for you. John

I sure think it's a good project. I don't have to tell you that us upper Midwesterners really appreciate no rust. Lots of other work to do on it, but you don't have to replace half of the car because it's all rusted out. Speaking of a clean '69, how about some updated pics of that gorgeous red '69? I gotta come up and see that when it's done! Terry |
