Neat Steve.
Notice one small thing. HEMI engine shot needs to be moved down some. Keep the faith man, we're coming! Charles |

Tow Rig
This is a cool thread. You have alot of neat stuff there Steve.I tow with a 71 Chevy C-10 with a 455/t400 12bolt 3.08 rear.I live here in the mountains of Md and anyone that has been thru here knows what I am talking about, they are killer. My 455 has a small Crower hyd cam,6H heads, performer and Qjet.It runs 14.50 in the quarter, will tow up the mountains pulling my 20ft trailer in 3rd gear with my race car.I love to open the hood at the races, gets more att.than my race car!!! I built the engine back in the early 90s ,had it in my Trans Am race car for a bit,ran 12.60s,runs on todays camel piss and have towed with it for years.Pontiac power rules!!!

Anyone have the part number on the AirLift brand suspension bags for a full size wagon? I called them and they didn't have one listed in their system.
I have tried researching replacement shocks for my factory load level system and am not having any luck. |

Just picked up a set of brighter Sylvania Silver Star tail/brake lamp bulbs for greater visibility. Thought that mentioning them goes with the nature of this thread. Will go back to the standard bulbs if when i get them in, they look like crap.

Got them in. With the lens on, they are not 30% brighter as advertised. Maybe 10% at best...actually very hard to tell a difference. No big deal. $10 vs $5 for the standard ones.

Over the years I have found the only noticably "Brighter" lights that directly replace factory parts (without extra relays, wiring, etc.) are a nice set of halogen headlights, vs the old sealed beam type. A definite upgrade, and lights dark roads ahead of you a lot better.

I did the H4 conversion using AutoPal enclosures on the clone. I used hi/low bulbs in all 4, with all elements turning on for high beams. If you stand in front of it while they're on, you will get sunburned. Probably cook a hot dog too! They are BRIGHT.
You can see the relays to the right in the one pic for high and low beams, did the MAD upgrade. The AutoPal enclosures are glass, unlike many of the other conversion enclosures which are plastic. .

http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-3-4-H5001-...f711a2&vxp=mtr You can also order ones with city lights if you want to. I wanted them to look more factory in my case though. One thing, you have to doctor the bucket some so you can change the bulb from behind, but it's no biggie. If you want the part number I used, I can dig that up, just lemme know. In the pic, you can see the bucket to the right has been doctored, the one to the left is OE. The paint was still wet when I took the pic, fyi... .

I'm still looking, but pretty sure it's the HL-104. Pretty much just make sure it's a 5006 conversion enclosure for H4 bulbs. The H1 bulbs, low beams/one element, sometimes come with only one terminal, try to be careful of that. Since you already have the relays you should be good there, just make sure you have like 12g wire for the grounds to the bulbs. I did 12g for all the bulb to relay connections just to be sure, and that I was running both elements at the same time on all 4. Used an ATO fuse & holder for the relay power feed too. (can see it on top of the relays in the pic)
I will keep looking, have like a 2+ foot high stack of reciepts, so may take a few mins! .

Well, that pile was for the clone, have 2 other piles that are bigger for the driver & 'bird. I went throught the one pile twice, can't find the reciept, but it's pretty straight forward, it's listed to replace H5006 sealed beams.
Keep in mind too that there are other options, but I couldn't find a more affordable upgrade than the AutoPals, and am happy with them. The pattern of the beam is one thing, and quality of construction. Hella has really nice ones, but are like $180 or more to do. Then there's the whole bulb thing too, choosing can be a task. Sure if you search a little, you will find more info on it, spend an hour, do some homework, might be something out there that's better now. .

Nice looking light setup. I like the glass bulbs. Dont care at all for the plastic headlight lenses. Never hurts to have more light.
