Default What is it?

I took this off my 68 GTO Convertible about four years ago, and now I can't remember where it goes. Most everything else that was in the same box of parts came from the dash and front part of the interior. Sure wish I'd labeled things a little better. I guess my CRS has worsened over the past four years. Can anyone help me?

You got me. I hd everything apart in my dash a few years ago and do not recall anything that looks like that. Sorry I can't help.

It looks like it bolts under the seat and holds the lower seat trim in place.

Just my guess.

I thought I could ID any part on a '68, but have no idea what that is. It looks like a wiring harness may have attached to it at one point. What kind of options do you have on your car?

If it's part of a seat I think I would have more than one. This is the only one I have. I guess I could be missing another one, but don't think so. Thanks. Here's another view.

I think you're on the right track Verdoro 68. It has a nylon piece attached that looks like it may have held a wire or two. The car is pretty stock; power top, a/c, PS, PB, am radio, tilt wheel, TH400. I pretty much left the column intact when I removed it, but this piece really looks like it might have attached to the column.

That plastic clip was used to hold a harness. The ends would get taped parallel with the wires. Then pushed into a hole.

I does not look like any part I have ever seen on a 68 GTO. Did the car come with a box of misc. stuff?

I scanned the resto guide tonight and looked at a bunch of diagrams for a bunch of years. I was thinking it could be part of a power or reclining seat, 8 track, reverb or power trunk release but nothing matched. Is it something convertible-specific? I'm starting to think it goes to a different car.

Question

I'm beginning to think it somehow got thrown in with my parts by mistake. I can't find anything even close to it in any manual. Checked the glove box CUZ68. It's not that. The mystery is that I only have one other car, 69 Firebird, and that car was finished when I dismantled the GTO. I can't find a part number anywhere on it. Guess it will remain a mystery. If I figure it out I'll be sure to post. Thanks for the feedback.
