Can't open pics in e-mails
This is a separate problem from the anti virus alert I have been receiving. For quite some time I have not been able to see the pictures attached to most e-mails I get. I use Office outlook as my e-mail server.
In the latest e-mail there was a banner at the top saying to click here to open the pics but when I did the pics didn't open. I am sure that sometime in the past I probably deleted something that is needed to open the pics. Can someone guide me in the right direction to fix this. I am running XP with Office Outlook for my e-mail.

Before you do anything else, go here http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and get the free download and run it just to rule out any other problem. Have you tried right clicking on the attachment and then save as and then opening it from the new location?

I have Malwarebytes and run it regularly. I can right click and save it but some e-mails I get have several pictures and it is a pain to do it this way.
Used to, when I opened the e-mail the pics opened automatically. Now. on some I get a banner saying click here to download pictures but nothing happens when I do. Other e-mails, I don't even get that banner. Before this started, I deleted an older version of HP photosmart essentials and I think that is what caused my problem.

Right click on a saved picture then click on "open with" and choose the program you want to use to open the picture and make it your default program. Then try to click on a picture in your email and see it it opens.Your email server may be trying to open it with a program you no longer have.
