best way to unfill emblem holes
bought a lemans already painted. guy had welded up the holes for the emblems--what do i have to do to put the stock emblems back on without ruining the paint? take it to an experienced body man?

No, just be really accurate with a drill.

Yeah - be very careful with a drill. But if youe lucky you can get to the back side and maybe the fill job was botched enough to see where the holes were before you drill. Then when you are done be sure to reseal the holes with some fresh paint to stop rust from starting from the bare metal hole edge. Maybe even put some silicon seal at the hole just before you put the emblems on.

Put Masking tape over area where hole is to be drilled. Then drill thru tape and metal carefully. Then carefully remove tape and if your lucky no chipped paint. You may want to center hole with small drill and then your bigger drill.

The real trick will be in locating the holes properly. I'd probably try to get someone who has the same car to make a template for me.

A step drill works good for not chipping paint, although it can still happen.
