Default 2012 Jim Wangers Invitational Drag Race, Denver CO

I just got this info today, a true Pontiac race here in the middle of the country on July 6th.
http://ncgtoa.com/2012%20Wangers%20I...r%203-1-12.pdf

There is also a GTO convention July 3-7

I won't say I am but I will say let's see how things go in the next few weeks racing wise. Its nice to see they FINALLY have the GTOAA race closer to a weekend instead of on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
I really would like to get up on the mountain and see my buddies the Hagans that I hungout with at Pontiac heaven last year.does anyone happen to know there screen name on here?
Going and hangin out at the Morrison in after the races is fun fun!

Actual altitude is approx 5800ft. You can look forward to 8700 to 9200 density altitude! According to my logbook from the last few years. From racing in Tulsa, then Bandimere. I lost .6 to .7 ET. Drop the jets about 3 sizes, leave the timing and come up to the mountain and race!

From the guys that have raced there -- your car feels like its pulling an anchor -- way low on power due to way high air readings

Yep,your car doesn't want to leave the line and at the top of 1st gear The car acts like it wants to take off BUT anyone who has raced there will tell ya it's a top notch facility.staging lanes that are down hill and a up hill shut down area.its a great race track!

Default What a great time

The race was first class, there were a lot of good cars there. I'm still mad at myself for getting too deep in the beams and overcompensating for a v-e-r-y slow light which put me on the trailer in the second round. The race finished shortly before a good cloud burst. We got totally soaked trying to find Jim Wangers who had more sense than we did and found dry ground. I wish I could've met him. I had some fuel issues early but my buddy with the purple T/A had a horrid day as his new fiberglass hood went airborne during practice and he had a rear slick pop a tube in the second round.

Yes Scott won his race, that car is extremely consistent. I talked with him after tech, he's a really classy guy.

Did you guys notice the orange GTO that showed up to race later on that night? It had a 541 with tiger heads on it. Really wanted to see it run, but the rain killed that. To bad he did not show up for the Pontiac race.
