Default Quick Question - Body Bushings

Is there a way to replace them one at a time, without actually removing the body from the frame? Mine are dry-rotted.

Yep, did mine 1 at a time.....loosen them all and then jack up the body a portion at a time just enuf to get the new ones in.

The area that requires the most effort is removing the body bolts...they screw into caged nuts in a recess in the body bottom and they usually get rusty and you end up breaking the nut away from the cage and they just spin.

Plenty of lube beforehand helps, but you may end up drilling thru the floor from the inside to hold the nut.

If possible, try to squirt some penetrating oil above the bushing so it works it's way into the cage nut. Soak them and let them sit. You may even try tightening them a little at first to break them loose.
