FNP 40s here. The gun fits my hand better than others I checked out and I shoot it well. They will fire anything I put through them and have been very reliable. It's a little too big to conceal easily, though.

I absolutely love mine. I have had a single stovepipe jam in about 1000 rounds through it, with no other problems. Feeds everything (have even staggered ammo types in the mag to try to make it jam, to no avail), accurate, good heft to it, don't have to carry it cocked and locked thanks to the DAO, etc. I have heard that the slide may crack up front for some people, but I have had no such issues. If I do encounter issues, Para has moved their HQ/repair facilities about 5 miles down the road for me, so service shouldn't be an issue!

What are the thoughts on carrying a shiny gun compared to a dark finish? I prefer dark finish.
Is there a deterrent effect for a perp if you're carrying a shiny finish? |

In a shooting situation that lasts only seconds I don't believe a BG will notice what finish is on your handgun. He might notice the bore size, semiauto v revolver, but I think the BGs have seen more than their fair share of guns and finish wouldn't play as a factor in the outcome.

The jacket of my rounds are shiny, the hollow point centers are matte, I'm not picky either way...

I like dark because it might not be seen. If I'm clearing an area of the property or house I don't necessarily want them to confirm I'm armed. In the event it's someone making a bad decision to be where they shouldn't have been (and are hiding), I'd rather they not bolt and startle me. I'd rather they try to explain their mistake when I discover them. If they see a gun, who knows how they'll react.

I have my Glock loaded with Cor Bon's because, like "Hallmark", I care enough to send the VERY BEST! Their 9mm rounds are + p's and give 357 mag ballistics.

I have been carrying 1911's for years. My most frequent is a Colt Lt. Wt. Ofc. model .45 acp. but often carry my Colt Pocket Pistol Mdl. 1903 in .380 ACP, that I converted from .32 ACP. for it's compactness.
