Default lower door hinge spring

Is there any way to install the spring with the door on? It sure doesn't look like it, I'm just hoping I don't have to pull the door off.

Those tools work good. Just need to compress all but the outer 2 coils, it was still a pretty tight squeeze on mine. I suppose it depends on how tired the springs are.

just had to do this on my car last week with the doors on. I used a pair of channel locks to compress the spring as much as I could and then put a large zip tie on. I did this three times so the entire spring was compressed evenly. I then tapped it into place and cut the zip ties. Worked great.
