Default 140 mph speedo

I searched the site and really can't find an answer. My 71 t37 has a 140mph speedometer with the standard warning lights. What I can't seem to find is if this a normal occurance or somewhat of a rarity. Does anybody have any insight on this?

Ben

Gotcha. Guess that's why I couldn't find anything on that. Thanks for the help.
