Been working on the GTO the past few weeks now that work calmed down a bit
I installed sound barrier on the floor, roof and behind rear seats. Intalled the L/S fender and innerwheel well permanately. Got the gaps and body line perfect. Installed door weatherstriping and roof rail weatherstriping, I got the doors shutting perfect now. Its all in the right weatherstriping. Disassm. the window regulators, cleaned and greased them and relined the channels with new correct fuzzies. Installed all the AC seals on the radiator support. Installed all the brake lines and booster, Bled the brakes. Car starts and runs strong. Just havent actually driven it yet or moved it. Next on the list is the A/C lines, condenser coil and drier. Once thats done I can install the R/S front fender. |

Looking great!
Just a tip you probably already know, put the headliner in before the glass. Much easier. Charles |

Seeing as how I just got done with mine, it is easier gluing the front and rear without the windows in, BUT I got it done anyhow. Phew.
I know you are doing concours, so don't hit me too hard for the mirror and dome light, OK? If you need tips on the headliner install, let me know, I researched till I was blue in the face. Remember, original bows in original locations and CLEAN so they will slide side to side, stretch front to back first in center then go side to side. Charles P.S. Camera lens needs cleaning. That's going to be one sharp car but it would look better with different wheels and tires. LOL.

Anodizing
I am looking for someone that does bright dipped anodizing.
I need to get the wire mesh grilles dipped. Any suggestions on who might be able to do this? I have new NOS plastic grille surrounds and turn single housings and lenses. I want to do it right and have the grilles refinished too. |

Grilles and header
I got my grilles back today from the anodizing shop.
They turned out great. I assembled the front header panel with the refinished grilles and recrhomed eyebrow mouldings, correct turn signal bulbs, NOS housings and lenses, bezels and emblem too. I even lit up the lights to give myself a thrill! |

Thanks for all the comments.
I had the grilles done locally at an industrial metal plating company. They dont do any automotive or hobby work. They specialize in military spec work. They did this for me only because a machine shop I do work for referred me to them. If I tell you how much I paid you really will be jealous! |

Grills look great RD. When you get everything together, change the wire in the switch so your parking lights are on with your headlights. Not concours correct but it will look great, and safer at night too.

But if he is truly building a concours car, he would have to stick to OEM/original even though I agree with you and the running light upgrade looks nice...

Got most of my mouldings back today.
I decided to have the plating shop repair any small dings instead of buying new repro mouldings. Sometimes the mouldings dont fit or the metal is thin. Just waiting on front and back windshield mouldings All the other mouldings are done and ready to go. |

You are doing one heck of a job, RDR.
Me thinks you have placed the grill emblem a wee bit too low. Here is a shot of mine I just reassembled. Charles |

Thanks for the heads up Charles,
There are triangles on the back of my grill emblem thay kinda lock into the grille pattern. might be able to raise it up to another row of grille. Just got back from Englishtown last week with a box of goodies. I will be posting more pics soon as my restoration progresses. |
