My 5hp, 60 gallon upright compressor. Been working great since 1994 and I love it. The FRL is starting to leak and that annoys me.
The tool I miss most? My second 2 car garage. Keep the daily drivers up front and have the Birds in the back. Didn't need to get anything or put something back if I didn't finish a project that day.

I am sure it is smaller than you professinal guys but my new garage makes a world of differance in room and attitude working on the GTO.
Im with this guy,

Its got to be my garage 44x48 after restoring my gto at a buddys house and storing it there I knew the day would come that i needed my own garage.
I was putting it off due to other projects and cost of the build and i didnt want it attached to the new house we were bulding.

it started because my buddy was moving so i bought a portable garage, then set out to build my own, again due to cost i did build it my self and son. but thats a whole nother thread.

Thats a tough question. So many to chose from'mmmm that tool!!!-no-how about Milwaukee Saw-zal. Just bought a new reconditioned one with twist blade lock for $89.00! Always liked the way they cut. The Makita I have I'd almost give it away it jumps, grabs and just doesn't have the same cutting feel as the Milwaukee. Bob

My pick would be the one needed for the job at hand, got to have the proper tool to do the job right, makes lift so much easier.
BurtMac, plasma is nice for fab work and some body work, but I would not make it a number one priority unless your set in other areas, a small cutoff tool will get the job done alot cheaper. But if you do alot of thicker metal, fabrication etc it comes in handy, junked out and cutup a combine with one years ago, so much quicker and cheaper than the cutting torch, it can move very fast on the thinner metals, also cuts cast and aluminum very nicely.

giddygoat,
Thanks for the reply on the plasma cutter.. I dont do much heavy metal work..most of my metal work is body work. I have had trouble justifying a plama cutter...guess thats why i dont have one yet..
Shop still needs a Christmas present though...

My Hein Warner USA made jack. After using crap jacks for the last 30 years, bought a good one last summer. Night and day difference.

I've just been appointed "long term care-taker" of my friend's plasma cutter.I now look for things to cut.But for some odd reason, the cat won't come near me now.Made two "burn barrels" out of 55 gallon drums in about 10 minutes.

John Deere 4510 4X4 with 460 loader. I say it is the best employee you could ever ask for. I hardly ever lift anything heavy anymore. You can pull an engine with it too, but you have to take the hood off .

My favorite would be the internet search. It has done more to help than any single tool i own. Besides that probably my craftsman air impact. seems I am always swapping tires and wheels for someone.

If I can actually find it when I need it, it would be my favorite tool.
