Default Divider Plates--Stainless Steel

Has anyone used the stainless steel waterpump divider plates that have been reproduced for 64/68 8 bolt pumps. Getting hard to find good plates. Just wondered if they fit properly and do the job.

I had to grind on them to fit properly, but one in they are fine.

I used them too when i rebuilt my engine.
my engine rebuilder is one of the best.
He had to machine them to fit properly too.
I would reccommend them as long as you have a way to machine them, or fit them the right way. The plates were rubbing up against the water pump empeller..
I dont know exactly what he did but its perfect now.

They need to be recontoured to follow the impeller's profile. You will see that when you have the old and new SS inner plates side by side. If you can sill use yours, I suggest you do so and not waste your money. Only get a new set of plates if it's absolutely neccessary in a do or die situation.

And yes, I have a major problem with the way these expensive SS plates are made. The factory didn't have to machine or reform them, so why should we have to.
