Default Small diameter oil filter part number?

I installed a quicktime scatter on the 67. I do like it very much. However, it has a starter bump on both sides. However, between the S. shield and the Doug's the 1248 filter is not coming out.... unless, I remove the entire assembly.

Anyone got a oil filter number that will solve my issues?

The "regular size" NAPA 1258 (WIX filters have a 5 before the number, example 51258) filter is 4.338" long and 3.660" outside diameter at the top. Their 1049 is longer at 5.178" but the same diameter. The 1522 is 4.526" long and 2.921" diameter. The 1045 is 4.828" long and 2.921" diameter.

Double check my numbers here:

Not sure about Wix #'s, and been 20yrs, but think i used a PF61(longer/thinner) in place of PF24 to clear hedder pipe.

Thanks guy's. My Napa has a K&N sign on the door. I will see if they have/sell it.

When I take the oil filter housing off the block, there is no way to keep oil off the headers. Gotta be a better way.

Does the bypass valve matter?

You'll like the K & N HP-2006 because of the removal nut on the bottom of the filter. With the headers in the way, it really makes it easy to get off. Been using them for years.

It may not help your situation, but...
You can rotate the oil filter housing by elongating the 2 lower holes. The housing essentially swings in a radius from the upper bolt, you have to elongate the holes accordingly.
Some here have had issues w/ the skinny filters.

It's strange that a late model GM vehicle has a filter that fits a Pontiac, (NAPA 1522)
The 1522 has the anti drain back valve that allows the oil in the engine to not drain down through the filter, into the pan, for start ups...
