Default 61 Catalina Top up or down when adding fluid?

I've seen two posts about filling the top motor reservoir with fluid

one says fill with top up and the other with it down

What's the right method for my car

to remove air from both sides of the rams you will need to move the top up and down. it will be difficult to add fluid with the top down because it will be difficult to access the reservoir. you will have to go in from the trunk.

The factory manual says to fill the reservoir with the top up.

Were you there on Sunday? I didn't see your car but then again it's pretty much impossible to see everything there. I did see a nice black Ventura bubbletop, a blue Bonneville convertible (that one belongs to one of the local guys) and a black Catalina two door sedan super duty car.

my 61 Catalina

Only had the Catalina there on Friday with a for sale sign on it
drove around the event looking for a parking spot
when you come late driving stick shift it sucks with all the people walking in the road
parking the car was most welcome

Saturday i stayed home my legs were shot from walked the whole grounds
Sunday i brought my pick up to haul the crate motor i was going to win in the drawing
ah that didn't happen got skunked again

2 of the car you mentioned Stuart

61 Black Ventura that was Kevin's from Klamath Oregon i talked to he for a long time
he said he bought the car in Denver it was blue at the time
he did the new interior and the black paint
Kevin drove the car both ways alone from Klamath Oregon enjoyed talking to Kevin

I've been known to drive to east & west coasts buy a car and haul it home sole

I saw the 61 Super Duty scoped it out here it is
