Wow Tom. Thats over 50% more than Ron is asking for his uncoated headers. And those welds dont look as nice as Ron's actually...lol. Chrome headers as an option? I cant imagine the chrome living very long with the hot/cold expansion. Also didnt see anything saying they were warrantied at all.

Retail price for try-y headers for my Impala is $575. 14 ga, 3/8" flanges. I would also receive them within 2 weeks after paying for them.

ok....I forgot to post another set of headers that went out last Wed. This set has the tabs for the reducers welded on, and 3" to 2.5" reducers. Again....hang in there guys.....things will hopefully be speeding up even more. I hear Ken Crocie's 2" set will hopefully be done monday after some delays in tooling.

Hmmm, mine should be too far behind.

Hope the fact that I purchased an old set from "Old Goats" last year doesn't mean I dont want them. still didnt put them on yet.

I know Im on the list ....somewhere

I know this question is probably trivial at this point but, is there any sound difference over a standard 4 tube? I have seriously been thinking about ordering a set for my 78 T/A mainly for ground clearance. It sounds exactly like I want it to now. Just curious if the design makes a noticeable difference with tone?

Obviously 14g is going to sound less tinny under the hood than a thinner metal, but he'll be going to 16g soon. As far as sound from the car in general? I doubt it'll make any noticeable difference.....thats more your mufflers I think.

In my experience, the tri-y's don't sound any different than regular 4-tubes.
180 degree type headers would most likely have a different sound.

180s Defineately sound different! sound like 2 4 bangers slighty (90 deg) out of phase.

Ken, was there anyone beside Herb Adams that offered 180 headers for a Pontiac? I've heard 180s on chevys before, but not ever on a Pontiac. Definitely a much different sound on a V8.

Yeah I remember hearing 180* header cars at Daytona when I was a kid. They sounded weird. I see a set of Tri Ys in my future. The passenger side header on my car hangs lower which causes that side of the exhaust to hang lower. It's got scrapes as it is and I want to lower the nose just a hair to get the car sitting just right.

Hey Ken......good talking to you last week. I just spoke with Ron and he is still frustrated with a few gremlins on your 2". Told him to bust his *ss on them for you....so hope to hear something soon.

Just to make everyone aware.....ramair3 is next up in old orders. Ron will be starting on his shortly, and I just spoke with him.

problem with 180's in a bird is the oil pan. Can't run them without the Herb Adams oil pan and pickup.
