aftermarket rally guage
65 gto that I added new guages,everthing works but the last guage temp and oil,it was wired different,not with dash lights. When I turn on ignition the lights come on in this guage only. The others work with the dimmer switch,I dont think the lights should be on constantly,can I change wires without cutting into the wires?:confused. PS the oil and temp guages work great,its just the lights

When things get screwy with wiring, ign. switch turns on lights, dimmer switches turn off lights...etc, this usually means a bad ground.(as the electricity will take whatever path it can to get to ground) When I installed my repro dash (the plastic one) I added 3 extra grounds from the pod to the steel dash. When it was all hooked up, it worked great. You may want to try that before you start splicing and cutting wires.
Good luck, as these wiring problems can be a pain. |

Yeah, But did your last guage light up after install when Dash lights are not on ?
