Default Junk yard Dragger

I've always wanted to drag but never had the funds still don't but my time to do it is running out. I've always been a pure stock guy pretty much. I just built them back the way they came.
So here's what I have give me my best options to piece something together with $$ 0 LoL.
Motors from 326 389 400 455 tranys 2 speed 300s , turbo 350 and 400 a few different numbered heads but I have a set of 48s . intakes QJ and tri power both, rear I have a set of 4.88s

what ever gets thrown together will go in a 65 A body Post Coupe

Unless you're only racing 1/8th mile, those 4.88 are way too steep for a traditional Pontiac unless you're going to use a ridiculously tall tire.. I'd use the healthiest of the 389-455 combo and the healthiest of the 3 speed trannys. A QJ intake with a good mated QJ or TQ will work great. A street fighter converter or something comperable will work well.

For inexpensive traction http://www.americanraceronline.com/ the "DOT" tires work surprisingly well. (I've done consistant 1.52's 60 fts with a 3900 lb car using the soft compound 285/60-15) I'd go 455 and no more than 3.7x gear.

I've got just what you need in the for sale section here. Much cheaper than you can build them, even if it is a drive.

455 engine, TH350 trans, no steeper than a 3:55 gear. You'l be suprised on what times it'll turn.
