Default Mono Vs Multi leaf springs

I own a '67 firebird 400 and im looking to replace the rear mono springs. im not sure whether to stick with a mono or go to the multi and if i go with the multi leaf springs do i need a conversion kit? my firebird is a street car with somewhere around 500 hp so i want something thats a good balance between comfort and performance. thanks
