Default New Roller Rocker Arms, and what else?

So fella's,

I love the idea of a simple rocker arm swap netting 10-20hp. The cost per dollar seems to appealing to pass up. Here's the question; What else is needed to swap from the stock 1.5:1 rocker arms to a nice set of 1.5:1 full roller arms? It should be an easy swap if staying with the same ratio, right?

Thanks,
Tony

I'd think you would also need to also increase the ratio to see that sizable of a gain. I'm no expert on ponchos though.

10-20 hp on a stock motor with swapping in roller rockers? Not going to happen. Ask a Pure Stock racer, they make more power with stamped rocker arms than with the roller tip 1.52's. Has to do with the flatter curve of the stamped arms actually opening the valve more than the tighter radius of the roller tip.

No big power gains available with the rollers at the same ratio is the consensus that I am getting.

What am I looking at having to do in order to swap in 1.65's instead of the 1.5's originally mentioned? What are the down sides?

Grinding the pushrod openings in the head to clear the pushrods... possibly replacing the valvesprings due the extra fatigue brought on by 10% more lift. If you are looking for free power I'd make the valvetrain adjustable. That will only require a set of poly-locs and by loosening the valvetrain up you may see 10-15 hp.
