Default Red 73 SD auto Formula at Mecum?

http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...2&entryRow=697

Anyone have any background on this particular car? From the internet blogging it looks like it was repossessed along with the rest of this guy's collection and is going to be at the Mecum auction. That 70 RAIV T/A that was previously discussed is also part of the collection.

There cant be that many red SD Formulas out there (supposedly 1 of 3 Florentine red cars, 1 of 33 autos). Anyone know this car or who restored it, or any other useful info?

Thanks

I'm thinking about going. People at these auctions don't like Pontiacs. Would be nice to be there in person to see them roll across. No friggin commercials for me!!! lol

Brew, I do know that our opening bid will be 100.00, but I don't think it will hold up. We really should go, I'm serious.. You can see what it all about for when you stick your babies in the Saint Charles Auction

wtf!?

ok, I'm now questioning myself here...

background:
I attended the 2006 Trans Am Nationals;
in attendance was a gentleman with a a freshly restored 1970 RAIV/4spd white TA;
the same guys had a 1973 SD455 burgand on oxblood Formula ~ but I thought his SD was a stick...

considering hte number of '73 SD455+W66 ~ let alone burgandy (or what ever it's called) with oxblood interior ~ now I'm wondering if I was mistaken, and in fact these are the same cars...

if so, the 70 & 73 were spectacular.

Rick Mahoney's Florentine Red '73 SD Formy is most likely the one you saw. Rick's IS a stick car, and a poverty cap car as well. IIRC, Rick also has a IV T/A (among many other nice Pontiacs).
