'72 Alternator codes
I'm soon to have a 55amp, date coded 2F17, manuf. #1100928.
I want test, rebuild and re-finish this piece for either my car, or to set out on E-bay or perhaps here; this Summer. Asking of the '72 guys in particular I suppose...........I know the 2 = the year 1972, but what of other parts of the date code, so I don't mis-represent it? Later, Mike

It looks like 2E17 (or May 17, 1972) to me.
