It's pretty well known that this woman has a large contract that pays her very well monthly and her place of business is very near ours. Less than 5 miles.

Default small claims in CA

You can likely serve the store manager...

Thanks for all the advice guys. Knew I could count on you! Looks like I'll be making a few phone calls tomorrow morning.

BTW; the $700 wasn't just for the rotors. It was for the whole bill. Sorry if my OP was mis-leading. The rotors were $404, labor $246, then taxes, etc. for the rest.

Default Update:

Since you guys took the time to reply, figured I'd give an update.

On Monday, 2-22, I filed a report with the B.A.R.

Yesterday (Thursday the 25th), I called the NCR# ChupaCabras provided. Got passed around a few times until I was connected to the right person who made sure the store manager talked to me. Now that he was under the gun, he called his boss and they offered to refund the cost of the original brake job.

At first I refused, saying their poor workmanship cost me double that in repairs after the fact. In the end I took the refund of $387.63 but told the store manager to make sure his boss knew that this isn't over yet.

Today, I got home from work and in the mailbox is a letter from the B.A.R. saying that my case has been accepted and someone will get in touch with me soon so things can proceed. I will of course at that time tell them about the $387.63. I'm not out to make a dime off of this. I just think that I'm owed the money I paid to Ford to ultimately fix my truck.

Thanks again to everyone who took the time to reply to my post.

Good for you!
I'm still very confused at how someone can screw up a simple brake job?

You and me both. I used to be a B.A.R. certified brake tech. Doing brakes is not that hard. I'm going to have to find a shop that can surface my rotors for me and I'll go back to doing the brakes myself from now on.

You should, they're very easy on that truck, I do mine all the time in my driveway.
