Default will any 71 Nova parts fit a 71 Ventura?

i just got a 71 Ventura and i already had a 71 Nova race car.. i was wondering if anything crosses over because it seems almost exactly the same..... except for a few obvious things..
also does anyone have a Ventura specific catalog or is there a website that sells parts? i cant seem to find parts anywhere...

thanks for any help.

Bryan

Bryan, I have a '73 Ventura, so not a perfect answer... I used Nova quarters, floors, lexan (windows) and suspension parts. Also a Nova 12 bolt went right in. Nova guys bought most of my interior. SO for '73, there was a lot of crossover.

Also, the front subframe is the same as a first gen Firebird.

Hope this helps a little.

69f bird did the nova quarters take a lot of massaging to get them to work? I have a 72 Ventura.

They should fit without any work.

Yes, I agree with 72Ventura. Other than the crossover Nova stuff, its tough. I was very lucky to find a pair of NOS fenders. The only thing we needed but couldn't find was a tail panel, so we repaired mine. Every once in a while you will find grills, etc. on ebay. When you say "front end parts", do you mean suspension and steering, or nose? All of the suspension and steering is shared with Nova's and 1st gen f-bodies.

I do still have a few things, as I converted my 72k mile granny 6 cylinder Ventura into a race car (kinda obvious by the picture, huh?). What do you need?

I did use '72 Nova fiberglass bumbers on my car. The hood is a modified 1st gen Firebird Super 400 hood and cowl from Spotts.

try classic industries, get a free nova catalog there will be things in there that will work. I got a lot of parts from novas. also google (site mash) it will give you a nationwide craigslist for parts. It's a treasure and trash hunt to find parts. good luck Tom

I would like to know more info on your modified hood,Was it grafted to the ventura hood or was this just a firebird hood that was modified to fit.

The doors, quarters, window glass, rear bumper, and trunk lid are the same as a Nova. The tailight assemblies are much wider than a Nova but have a similar design.

I had to use a driver-side fender from an Omega on my car as the original was too mangled to repair and the Ventura II oem replacement was not available. Side note, someone stole my front bumper from my side yard so I'm still looking for a replacement 3 yrs later! JD

HO 67 Bird, It was a fiberglass 1st gen bird Super 400 hood that Paul Spotts sells. The cowl was a direct bolt in. The hood fit perfectly at the cowl, but had to be widened by about 1/4" on ech side at the front (the Firebird hood has a taper front to back). The nose was cut of and a new edge was formed to match up with the Ventura header panel, incluing modifying the "ironing board".

You can see the hood in detail here:

eBay, Forums, craiglist, specialized auto recyclers, word of mouth, local newspapers, and luck.
