Mitch, with a blanket statement like that he probably has more maturing to do than most of the X wives or husbands did. Marriage these days is considered disposable same a Kleenex, The real meaning of the vows isn't taken seriously and when the work becomes too much for some to shoulder they shrug it off and go on to the next.

I myself went to counseling 5 times during my marriage of 27 years, but one person alone cannot save a marriage, it has to be a joint effort. After she left 3 times I said third strike and your out, then proceeded to divorce her. Many things enter into a marriage, and many things enter into a divorce. Physical looks I don't believe should be the basis of a marriage, if that's the case the relationship is doomed from the start.

Marriage is hard work and as our society shows for the most part hard work is for losers, and getting by is good enough. That attitude is what makes our society less than it could be as well as the marriages in that same society. Morality has also taken a backseat in our society and is also one of the things that crushes the life out of marriage nowadays.

Well, dick... let's see. I worked three jobs and started a side business to try and pay her bills. Along with raising our two sons virtually by myself. Then there was the family residence which was 100% my responsability to keep up, and 100% of the cooking. That's just a few of the many, many sacrifices a decent person makes while doing everything humanly (and some unthinkable) possible to save ones marriage and keep a family together.

Obviously, since you have proven you're not a decent person, you don't understand... GO BUY A MUSTANG... YOU IMMATURE DICK!

1st wife decided to get pregnant while I was deployed for 9 months. Funniest part was she insisted it was mine even though she was only 6 months...Yeah, she was beautiful but dumb as a box of hammers. Sent her packing. One kid with her 28 Years old.
2nd wife was awesome at first but was one of those insanely jealous types and became physically abusive. She only weighed 100 lbs but since I refuse to hit a woman, I have the scars. One kid 25 Years old
3rd wife was great, blond blue eyed very intelligent. We were together 5 years and things were going great (so I thought) Then she decided she didn't love me anymore and booted me out of my own house while I was away at correctional officer school. Six months later she decides that she made a mistake and wanted me back. I told her your not getting another shot at hurting me like that again. Sorry. One kid 19 Years old.
Current wife and I are going on 12 years and even though like any marriage we have our disagreements it's all good. I'm actually good friends with my ex's and talk on the phone sometimes. She's not crazy about that.

Teasing people you don't know, about such a personal thing is asking to be called names like DICK on the internet. Although you are probably used to it.

Same thing here. Damn you would think she would have a sense of humor by now. I've also learned I'm not supposed to call her my "current wife" or "wife #1"

Well I think using the term "sad sacks" is what did you in.. Who said we were sad sacks ?? Yeah...I am divorced....have been for 17 yeras. After being with same woman for 32 years/26 married I found out she was /had been having affairs while I was working my butt off to support HER lifestyle. Living with someone you can't trust is sheer Hell. Cost me about a 1/4+ mil and ten years of my life...but worth it.
I almost took option "B" like Rob. I may be alone now...but a sad sack...not on your life.

Could say young and dumb, since I got married at 18, but he was a cheating drunk who for the last two years of the 10 years we were married, didn't even work.... enough said.

I'm with you Troy, you can't live with someone you cannot trust. And judgnot, ask anyone on the board that knows me personally, and there are a few, if I have a gut, NOT!!!!! There are women out there that think once they are married (or living with you) that they should live the high life and then raise hell when you have to work 20 hours a day and 6-7 days a week to support the life they want, and the hell with your interests. And when you have to work so much to support everything, they don't like to consider themselves married but you are supposed to. My mistake was staying around to try to raise my kids, should have thrown her out after the first time I caught her, but I can say this, she did not share my bed for close to six months, she found out she was going to be the one sleeping on the couch, not me. And she did most of our marriage.

caught x in bed with a co worker from her job ,because I was never home , ( I was a OTR driver and home on weekends and 2 nights during the week ) she wanted the princess lifestyle but didn't understand I wasn't royalty so I had to work , in the end it cost me , about 25 K in taxes from her taking money out of my companys account without paying the tax portion , and I wound up paying for her brothers living expenses while he was in college ( both where unknown to me at the time ) I lost several frendships because of her demands , I really didn't want to marry her but was pressured into it by the family as she was " good for me " ya so good that I almost committed myself because of the crap she put me thru .I walked away with my cars and tools and the furniture my Grandmother gave me and the tax problem and 20K worth of CC bills . her family never thought I was good enough til they met the scumbag she left me for ...

Listen man if it bothered you so much then I really am sorry. It wasn't meant to be personal towards anyone, certainly not you. I couldn't care less about you in fact. As a person I could but as an internet personality I couldn't. It was just a little humor. Ok maybe in bad taste but I had no idea a young DICK like myself could set off such a seasoned and experienced man as yourself with such ease.

Please fire back as we are all waiting for it. You middle/old aged terds live for it. This site is crammed full of pissing matches much more so than other sites with way younger aged members. Why I ask? Grumpy old fat guys with cheating wives?

Whoops..fire in the hole !! Now who's torqued .. Understand statement about internet or in person remark. Humor is one thing but not but if you have ever been though a tuff divorce it can take a heavy toll at times...to make fun of it is not going to get you any browie points...that's all. To say we are sad sacks with guts hanging out is rubbing salt in some deep wounds for some..now you can fire back..I have broad shoulders and experiece on my side..
Maybe this thread is headed for the Clubhouse..

60man Cheers. I don't want an argument I'm not trying to troll. I know this is Paul's and the rest of yalls house and I'm the punk so I'll get in my place. I was just having a little fun but I can see how it didn't go appreciated. I respect everyones commitments and all that and I know not everything works out. I've been dating a girl for 7 years and everyone thinks I'm crazy for not proposing. I'm just reserved when it comes to big ass commitments and when I read about 3rd and 4th failed marriages I'm kinda just like WTF? Everyone makes their own choices, well for the most part.

Judgnot, Maybe you haven't proposed because you are vain and don't think your girlfreind is good enough for you? That's usually the case. How's that? It's a similar attempt at humor at someones else's expense... much like your original post. Since we have established you have no life lessons that apply to this subject, I suggest you do as you have suggested and simply leave this subject alone. You are wrong about another thing... this is not my house, it's our house. This is one of the tamest boards this large on the net that I have ever seen... why? Because it is full of good people.

I was just pretty amused that this all came from someone with the username Judgnot.
