Need just the metal block connector for brake line
I do not know the proper name for it, but I bought some front calipers from a 89 S10 PU to replace my rear calipers (81 TA 4 wheel disc), looks like they are going to work using my factory rotors but where the brake lines go to the caliper there is a metal block, my factory blocks won't fit on the S10 calipers, I'm thinking I can grind the ridge down on the new calipers and they will fit, my hard line goes directly into the block and if I can find new blocks (or whatever they are called) that would probably be the correct way.
BTW-I know my em. brake is not going to work, down the road I will get an aftermarket one but I do not use it anyway. |

You might have to get a short SS flex line with a banjo fitting on one end and a flair on the other. Went through the same on my rear. I also had to grind a little on the caliper support to direct the line the correct way.

Thx for the info Skip, makes sense cause I was not sure once I got a different block if I was going to be able to bend my brake line to fit, keep reading about soft brake lines, our 81's do not have them I guess like other years, the hard line goes directly into the calipers.
I'm assuming you didn't find the SS line at an auto parts and had to have them made at a co like inline tube. |

SS is not necessary, but nice. You can use a 79 Seville front line (15"), run around $17 each. As Skip says, if you cut your line and reflare for 3/8-24 inverse flare, we can supply a pair of line holders and banjo bolts.
