Just wondering, tons of Tremec trannies for sale, but all from Mustangs. Will these fit an "A" body 67 chassis with a 400? Or is a GM version of the transmission a necessity? Google doesn't help on this issue, unless I missed something?

Go to Keisler engineering, they got good stuff. as I understand it the front plate on the T-56 and tremec 5 speeds will not bolt up and you need an adapter plate to bolt up to a standard 4 speed trans bell housing. I have seen another company that makes them that are based out of Oklahoma.
Good luck man. I am planning on getting a Keisler kit either 5 or 6 speed for my 68 Bird. The complete kit to change from A/T to M/T is 4800 It does include everything from bellhousing clutch to drive shaft. There is some stuff in there that is ridiculously overpriced so you can probably cut the kit down to the trans, shifter and adapter, bellhousing and cross member
