Not yet, it was sent to Dave at SD Performance for port matching and some testing. We'll test it as soon as it gets back.

I have to do a converter swap first, testing a new prototype from Continental. Installing the intake prior to that would flaw the test results. Our new converter is here, and getting installed later this week.

Hoping to make some track runs the following Friday evening at our local 1/8th mile track......Cliff

Will do. I'm more excited about the converter testing than the intake. It'll be interesting to see if Continental can improve a product which we consider already the best 10" converter out there one could put behind a high torque Pontiac street/strip engine.....Cliff

ME P4B sits on me bench awaiting some JB-WELD (or better idea) grafting of a Spreadbore CARB Spacer that allows "any" Q-JET to seal-up to the meager P4B flange.

Dont bother.
Back in the early 80's i massaged a holley flange model along with a hlly to q-jet spacer.
Alot of work for "slower then a stock g-jet intake".
I my experience, non of the P4B's breath like a stocker after 4000 rpm.
Been wait'n on Cliff's report.

Cliff, have you had a chance to run your P4B-QJ intake yet?
Did Dave @ SD Performance do anything with it?

I wonder if Cliff has tested the old Weiand intake that looks similar to the P4B. I ran that intake in the early 90s and it performed well.

Dave still has the P4B, along with a custom HR cam I sent to him. Both will be tested soon, hopefully within 2-3 weeks. If the cam works, maybe I'll get a cute name picked out for it....LOL....Cliff

I have an opportunity to get a P4B-QJ for not much money and am trying to work a deal for it. I noticed in the pictures you posted that you opened up both sides under where the carb mounts but didn't cut any material out between the sides. You noted in the thread that you were going to use a fairly thick open gasket to let each side see the other. Is that the way you'll leave it?

Cute name? Ruggles Special? Cliff's Hanger? What WOULD your baby be called..........

We need to encourage Cliff to produce his own intake, or someone to make one EXACTLY to his specs

We'll see how the initial dyno testing goes before I cut any more material out of it anyplace......Cliff

You mean like an enhanced port-n-plenum 68-69 factory style in aluminum?
Also an aluminum high rise tri pwr.
And a high rise dual quad for q-jets...

The one your get'n ready to test.
Is it as high as a factory cast intake?
Or lower like the other early edlebrocks?

Mike,
I'd settle for a dual plane in aluminum........not sure the dual q-Jet would be something I'd try... 1500-1600 CFM on even a BIG inch Pontiac might be a bit much..........LOL

Mike, I didn't have an engine available to "mock" it up and measure before I sent it out. Side by side with the factory iron intake, it appears very close in height. The plenum is slightly deeper, and the runners are larger. In contrast, the square flange P4B we have at the shop is choked down pretty good under the carb, but equally as large in the runners.

I'll let everyone know how it works? Dave at SD Performance is going to test several intakes back to back, a couple of camshafts, etc......Cliff

Thanks Cliff.
It does look higher then the other early models.
One thing i aways thought hurt them where the turns in the runners.
For example, note # 2 and 8 compared to the factory one there.
