Hey hooter, Adam had a bad day. He broke his glide, He thinks a input shaft. Plus it's still popping in here gears.

congrats rick.. i know you wanted that bad and now u got it.
hey hooter.. like keith said, it was a crappy day. hopefully the tranny is just a input shaft and not planetaries or something major.

With all the changes we made to the carb, it still had the same pop in the same spots so i think i can cross off the carb as the source of the problem. need to get a fuel psi guage in th car to see what its doing up around 6k and check the valve springs. prolly replace all the electronics over the winter if none of that other stuff works before then. It slowed to a 6.10 on the first pass at 112 compared to last weeks 6.00@113. Its been 6.00 @115 in worse air without the pop. Its jetted up now and i really thought that would fix it but it didnt. It breaks up once about half track and then starts 2 or 3 pops about the mph clocks. Almost seems like its just rpm related.

Between this car acting up, and needing to build a new motor for the LeMans and finishing my 70, i got plenty to keep me busy and broke this winter... HAHA

Really the only bright spot of the weekend was getting the new front wheels on the 69
I think it made quite a difference. now all i need is some 15x15 alumastars for the back

Heres the 70.. getting there slowly but surely.

and were having some shirts made.. its still under construction but im going to just sell them for cost, so when we get them done if anybody wants one they"ll be available. This design is still being revised but basically what the front will look like and the back may or may not be similar to the pic of the car coming out of the burnout with some of my supporters on the back.

Now that ive officially jacked his thread... CONGRATS rick.. Thats pretty awesome. That orange GTO is getting down there pretty good too.. Seems like a lot of the quickest cars in pro class @ midstate are ponchos !!

Thanks guys. I built this engine this year with this goal in mind but wasn't sure it was going to make it. I guess I should have started playing with it a little sooner in the season. Last year the cut off for pro was 6.00. Then this year they lowered it to 5.70. I guess I'll have to figure out how to drop another 3 tenths, Haha.

Adam- I hope the tranny problem isn't too expensive. I'm beginning to lean towards a valve spring problem with you popping problems. When my fuel pressure dropped it didn't pop it just layed over real bad. You will get it figured it out. See you next weekend.

I don't know, I'm about out of tricks. Haha. It's still pretty maintenance free. I'd like to keep it that way but I'm at that point where it won't be anymore unless maybe I put the bird on a diet. Hmmm..... Maybe that should be the next move.

Adam:

Beautiful car.

You need a windshield snorkel for that old car, though.
