62 Cat Rear Shock Replacement
I am looking for a set of adjustable rear shocks for my 62 Catalina B body. The right side rear spring is sagging a bit compared to the left and I am thinking that a set of adjustable shocks would take car of the side-to-side height difference. Any recommendations (manufacturer, model number, sources, etc.) appreciated.

You need a spring spacer. I got these on the old car guys best friend, e-Bay...
Springs never wear out, they just loose some of there ride height through the years. A spring spacer will bring that height back. For some reason, this concept is too simple for some people and they replace perfectly good springs with new springs that will eventually sag.. When the spring brakes then it needs replaced.. A heavy duty cargo spring is the worst thing you could use to restore ride height or add "rake". When riding over potholes and ruts your car will bounce like an empty pick up truck with these springs. Not good for optimum handling and smooth ride. I got this info from Herb Adams..... |
