Yeah I used them to see what I had to take apart to get it on. They aren't really for show cars. But I figure it $ 420 for a new dash pad or $ 90 for the cap. They look alot better in person. Thanks Steve

Just wanted to share some updates with the T/A. Currently, I was offered a running, smokless, all original 301(4.9) turbo motor. Motor, wiring, computer, and if I want it, transmission for $500. I will be going to check it out in about 2 weeks. I'm making a change to the nterior plan. I may be installing a hurst quater stick shifter. More pics in a couple of days.
Steve

I've decided not to go with the 301. I dodn't have any place to store it. I may keep the stock shifter also. I keeping the 350. 90% sure it's a jasper motr also. Any way here's acouple pics of the floors without the carpet.

I was outside about 4 hours sanding using 80 grit paper on an eletric palm sander. Came out prett good. I only wanted to take off acouple layers of oxidation, that came off along with the clear and maybe half layer of paint. I needed to go down further to metal in some places because of deep ryst. Came out the way I wanted to. I may go out and spend another couple hours sanding. Not sure yet.

The caps fit good, the only problem I ran into with my 78, is I had to remove the handle from above the glove box. they don't come with holes for this.

True. You need to cut holes in it. I'm actually glad it didn't have holes for the handle. I'm not a big fan of them, and personaly think they look better without the handle.

Finally primed. I spent around 3 1/2 hours doing some sanding, tapeing, and spraying. After awhile I started mot feeling well so I kind of hurried. Still spent about 2 hours spraying. I think it looks pretty good for a quicky.

I recieved the shifter friday. Today I was sitting home and decided to start working on my shifter. I have the shifter bezel/gearindicator, bezel mounting plate, and mounting brackets off. I also cleaned out the base.

I used some sand paper on the bezel mounting plate to test it, and luckily it's just surface rust and not pitted.
Someone in the past tried fixing the gear indicator and did a horrible job.
