Default want pictures of cars with this hood... and opinions

I posted this in the 1st gen Firebird section but got no response so far.

Since this is more of a “racers hood” maybe this section is a better place for a response.

I’d like to see some more pictures of cars with this hood and get an opinion from others about its looks.

If any of you have this hood on your car I’d love to see some pictures to get a better idea of how much I like it.

The only picture I’ve found is this one from the VFN website.

I think I’m liking this hood…..how about you guys.

So far I think I like this option better than the Glass-Tek for much needed tunnel-ram clearance.

I don’t think I care for the valley or crease in the center but I like the overall shape way better than the Glass-Tek.

I like the way it curves up quickly from the tip of the beak having a much more rounded or bulbous all around shape than the flatter proportions of the Glass-Tek.

I was pretty much resigned to settling for the Glass-Tek with its "just OK" flat wedge-shape, (but still better than a standard Chevy cowl on a Firebird).

Actually, except for the crease in the front-center, it's pretty close to what I had envisioned for a design I wanted.

I like it. A similiar hood for my car is a 1000 bucks. If it weren't so much I would have it.
My only thought is it should end closer to the windshield.

What height is the cowl?

I agree with you - it looks good. I went with a scooped hood on mine because I didn't like any of the cowls I looked at (except Spotts' which wasn't tall enough for my setup).

I might have to try one sometime since a cowl is what I wanted originally. I always liked them on the Camaros but never thought they looked right on a 'bird 'till now.

6" cowl; VFN calls it the "6 inch Tony Orts Hood."

Searching around the web I found a video of the car pictured running Extreme Street class and an interview with the driver who happens to be Tony Orts.

Anyone know if this car runs a Pontiac engine? In the video interview he says it was running 8.19, 8.21, 8.21.

Thanks for the response/opinion on the hood.

I have that same hood from Glasstek...I had to cut the cowl in half and raise it up another 5" to clear the tunnelram...but I think it looks great.
