Default '67 GP bench/bucket seat recliner headrest thingy?

I've never seen this before

It looks like two bucket seats that have been glued together, more or less

And headrests/recliner option on them to boot, from a loaded '67 GP

Anyone know what this is called?
The buckets from the seat up look like normal bucket seats
headrests and all that stuff look just like bucket stuff

I might cut it all apart to swap the stuff into GTO bucket seats
But debating...it's kinda neat

I think that it is called a Strato bench seat. It's pretty rare and even rarer ith the recliner.

There was someone parting out a really loaded but really rough 66 Bonneville Brougham Coupe in Norwalk last year and it also had that seat.

I have a strato-bench from a '67 GP I parted out. It is dark blue cloth, not morrokide.

Would love to have the recline/headrest combo on my HT.

One had to order the headrest option if the extra recliner option was disired, also both options were only availble with the Strato bucket or bench seats. Very rare option indeed!!.

A shame to cut it up but the math will be unavoidable, you will get good money, 66-67 headrests always pull big money, recliner is an even bigger plus.

I had decided to install this...as it was kind of growing on me.
And it would have been easy, for now...to solve the seats issue

I gave the task to a buddy welder who wanted to help build the car
He goes to start welding in brackets with the seat installed.
The padding under it catches on fire a bit.
He grabs WD40 and tries to 'put it out'

The seat went up pretty good....so now it's being cut up for sure
I saved the good parts...

More often than not...people 'helping' ends up making me do 3times the work

Welders tend to be pyromaniacs. AT least most I've been around.
