Default '68 Cat w/ GP stuff

Well this is my first attempt to add a picture to a post....

Awhile back another member asked to see a picture of my '68 Cat that I've added a '68 GP front bumper/hidden headlights. I also installed the bumper filler too. The stock bench seat was removed and replaced with the GP's buckets/console (you can't see the console in this pic); plus I added a bunch of other parts from the GP to the car.

The front bumper is a mild custon piece from BumerBoyz. Tehy made what they called a smoothie". I had them fill in the hole in the "beak" because I've not seen recently one of the stock arrowhead emblem that wasn't rusty and falling apart. I also had them fill in the slots for the bumper jack, the integrate the bumper bolts.

Enjoy (I hope)

Thanks for the complements guys... its almost like a '68 GP convertible; had they built one.

I've ALWAYS liked hidden headlights, that and fender skirts since I was a kid in the late 70's.

This is the best thing to do to the big cats...they were made for the hideaways..i just finished mine over the winter, but I didn't think of smoothing the nose. Was it a original gp nose or did you cobble things together like I did? i had loads of fun painting the light doors with testors model paint

A390GT,

The parts are all original GP stuff. I talked to BumperBoyz and they filled in the hole and welded in a stud where the bolt goes. The cost wasn't too bad actually, and they turned it around pretty fast.

I also hear what you say about painting the grilles. I was thinking about masking and painting them, but either way its a ton of work. I was also thinking of getting them chromed actually, but don't know if that would be too much chrome on the front though. I've been lucky and have bought both the grilles and headlight doors as NOS. I just need the small filler pieces between the doors and the side of the bumper.
