Bill you could do a lot less work and just cut off the water cross-over, use a 65 up water cross-over, and add the weld at the bottom of the intake runners/ cut off the rear tab on the heater core side.
Much less work. We were trying to achieve a FACTORY LOOK> Tom Vaught

Thanks Tom, but I'm happy with the sheet metal, on the 606, and the Wenzler on the 474, but, if I had a Pontiac street car......

If you look at Skip's Pics you can see each of the mods I mentioned here:
We took the stock intake and plugged the front of the manifold, Bill. We then drilled the water openings in the correct spots and ported them. We then machined the front of the intake for the proper late bolt pattern. We added material to the bottom of the intake to match the late bolt pattern port floor location. We removed the individual bore hole pattern in the plenums (open plenum design). We added a boss on the front of the cross-over for the 65 Alternator Bracket reinforcement bar. We removed the excess ear material on the rear of the intake. We added a 1" balance tube to make the engine idle like a V-8 vs (2) I-4 engines. We made custom accelerator linkage and made a cut-out in the balance tube for the Primary Holley linkage to clear the balance tube. The intake was peened in a large drum with balls like you would clean ammo brass. Tom Vaught
