Default Holley main jets

I don't mess with Holleys much but when chosing main jets do I pick jet size or drill size I used to know years ago when i was younger and had a memory. Also what is the difference.

See the note on the page above.
Some jets have the same size hole and a different leading edge.
It says the jets are rated by flow and not by hole size.
I guess this is why you cant simply drill a Holley jet to make it flow more fuel
hope this helps

My understanding holley jets are broached then flowed. The flow # correlates to the Jet #. This is how several jets can have the same hole diameter yet vary in flow.

MaxJets from comp cams are CNC and their number indicates the hole diameter. MaxJets are made to closer tolerances and should be more consistant from jet to jet. Since maxjets are machined differently/consistantly oriface size is directly related to flow rate.

Maxjets have advantages, but for most standard holley jets will work great.

Cheapest and best deal on Holley jets is the MOPAR Direct Connection Jetting (2 boxs) kit for about $40.00 with 2 jets each from #40 to #99
