Anyone have experience using their GI Bill educational benefits? Do they extend to your kids? I spent four years in the Marine Corps, got out in 1981. Wondering if my kids can are covered under any of these benefits.

Do you know if you are Montgomery GI Bill or Vietnam-era? I think they have different time periods for the expiration of benefits.
The VA has a pretty good page for Q&A. https://www.gibill2.va.gov/vba/vba.c...er/std_alp.php

If it's the Montgomery GI Bill it must be used within 10 years and one day after your date of separation. I don't believe that it extends to family members.

I called the VA last week on this very topic. For me, I had to use it within 10 years. I was in from 94-98, so I lost out.
